Additional Premium Refund for Insurance Policyholders

CSAA Insurance Group announced today that their premium refund program is being extended to June 30, 2020. The additional refund
amounts to 10% of 46-days of premium (with a minimum refund of $10). Total refunds amount to over three months of premium relief for AAA Insurance policyholders during this pandemic.

The additional refund accounts for the changes in driving habits as more people are slowly getting back on the road due to communities modifying or lifting their shelter-in-place orders.

For details on the refund process, we invite you to visit the CSAA Insurance Group website.

Our branches have reopened.

We’re happy to report that we’ve reopened our AAA branch locations to serve your needs, including most Insurance and Membership services, plus limited DMV transactions.

  • Our branches are now open Monday – Friday (no weekends for now). Daytime hours vary by branch, so please call first or check the hours using our branch locator on the website.

We have new and improved protocols and procedures now in place to maintain the well-being of everyone involved (those are shown below), and we look forward to having you come visit us once again.

Protocols and procedures for visiting our branches.

So that we can maintain a safe and healthy environment inside our branches, we’d ask that you keep in mind the following (informed by guidance from the CDC, WHO, and regional public health agencies):

Forms of Payment:

  • We’re currently accepting payment by credit card and checks (for now, we're not accepting cash).

Operations:

  • Rather than asking you to wait in line, we're using text-message queuing at select branches for appointments, and a call-out/call-back method for all others; if you arrive early, please remember to wait outside the branch for your appointment time.
  • Virtual and phone appointments are also available; simply call the branch to reserve your date/time.
  • Also, bathroom facilities are temporarily closed to Member/public use.

Safeguards:

  • Please always maintain physical distancing—minimum of 6’ apart—and remain contact-free when visiting our branches.
  • While inside, please remember we require you to always wear a proper face covering/mask.
  • As always, if you’re not feeling well and/or exhibiting any cold-/flu-like symptoms—or if, in the past 14 days, you have been in close proximity to someone with COVID-19 and/or have tested positive for the virus—you’re kindly asked not to enter the branch.

Since some operations are in flux right now, it's best to call your local branch before visiting to confirm hours of operation and services offered (you’ll find the number here).

Remember—we’re here for you in lots of other ways too.

You’ll find many of our AAA Member services are available by visiting us online at AAA.com, by calling our Member Services Center at 1-800-922-8228, or by using our AAA mobile app. (If you don’t already have our app, you can download it here.) Other services available to you:

  • Our roadside assistance and battery services are still rolling out to help get you back on your way. Whether you’re the driver or the passenger, you can request service from the AAA mobile app, from our website, or by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357).
  • Our AAA-owned Repair Centers throughout Northern California, Nevada, and Arizona remain open, with new curbside drop-off and pick-up services offered in certain areas to provide a safer, contact-free customer experience. Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by calling the repair center nearest you. (Click here for contact information).
  • Our superb AAA Battery Service is making house calls for a free car battery test and, if needed, to replace it with a new one—at a Members-only $25 savings. You can request service, 24/7, on the AAA Mobile app, by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357), or on our website simply by signing in to your Member account.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

We want to again share our thanks to all of our Members for hanging in there as we all adjust to this ever-changing situation. The road ahead still has its challenges, and we’ll be there alongside you to help—as we've been for over 100 years.

Stay well, stay informed, and stay the course with practicing social/physical distancing.

Best regards,

AAA Member Services

Agents are working remotely to handle your needs while branches remain closed.

As you may be aware, we made the difficult decision to temporarily close all of our branches. Our agents, however, are still available and working remotely from their home offices with full, secure access to Member records. So, if you need help managing your Membership account or Insurance policies—including handling payments, adjusting coverages, even updating your contact information—our local agents are available to help.

Our legendary roadside services are still rolling to help Members.

Both our AAA Roadside Assistance and our AAA Mobile Battery services will remain in full operation across all of our states, with the ability to continue to request help through:

We’ve also made some temporary adjustments to our operations to further protect you and our service technicians; the two primary changes:

  • To better meet social distancing and health guidelines, Members and any other vehicle occupants will not be able to ride in the cab of the tow truck. We’ve also instructed our road service technicians to limit physical contact during service calls. Should your vehicle need to be towed and you are unable to secure a ride on your own, please know that our dispatch team will work directly with you to secure transportation.
  • Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve also implemented a few upfront prescreening questions before your roadside assistance service call can be confirmed. We’ll be asking Members a couple of health questions relating to any cold and flu-like symptoms they or their
passengers may have, including any potential exposure to COVID-19. As always, we’ll keep all this information private, and your answers allow us to serve you to the best of our abilities.

How else may we be of service?

You can count on AAA to deliver peace of mind, when it’s needed most. If you have additional ways in which we can help you, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected] or b calling us toll-free 1-800-922-8228.

Additionally, if you are not taking full advantage of all your Membership benefits, please check out these two new articles on our website that can help you discover even more value from your AAA Membership.

March 30, 2020

It’s been an unprecedented last few weeks as the world wrestles with the effects of COVID-19 (coronavirus). This is unlike anything any of us have experienced before, and we are doing our very best to find ways to continue to serve you while keeping your safety, and that of our employees, a priority.

Amid the uncertainty of this rapidly evolving situation, just last week we made the difficult decision to temporarily close our branches in our effort to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This action was taken out of caution for the health and well-being of you, our Members, and our employees. It was not an easy decision to make, and we certainly appreciate your patience and understanding as we enable alternative ways to provide you high-quality service and support.

As this situation changes, we will continue to find new ways to serve you and keep you updated on those changes.

For urgent matters, please give us a call.

Here are the numbers to use to reach us for more immediate service requests:

Our AAA Roadside Assistance remains in operation across all of our states, and you can continue to request service from the AAA Mobile app, from our website, as well as by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357). As always, whether you’re the driver or just a passenger, you can trust our trained technicians to perform the services needed to help get you back on your way.

We are making some adjustments to our operation and taking additional measures for your protection and the protection of our technicians and service providers. Effective immediately, Members (and any other vehicle occupants) will temporarily not be able to ride in the cab of our tow trucks so as to better meet social distancing and health guidelines. Road service drivers will also need to remain contact-free with Members during service calls.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for understanding.

New curbside service at our Auto Repair Centers.

Our AAA-owned Auto Repair Centers—located throughout Northern California, Nevada and Arizona—will remain open at this time for your vehicle’s service and repair needs. We’ve modified our service experience to provide a contact-free interaction by implementing a no-waiting policy within our lobbies, establishing the convenience of curbside drop-off and pick-up, and increasing other measures for your safety and that of our technicians.

Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by calling your local repair center (click here to find the shop nearest you or to make an online appointment request).

Your safety on the road is important to us, and that means continuing to take care of needed maintenance and repairs on your vehicle. This new curbside drop-off procedure provides you with a much safer customer experience while allowing you to get your vehicle back safely on the road.

Stay better informed by permitting us to stay in touch.

If you have not done so already, I urge you to please take a moment to confirm your Membership information is up-to-date by visiting AAA.com. This will help ensure you continue to receive important Member communications from us.

You can count on us, just as Members have for 100+ years.

AAA has been serving Members for over 100 years, in good times and bad, and the peace of mind that Members have come to expect from us continues. While we are making adjustments to the way we deliver service to Members, we remain committed to providing the highest quality service possible.

AAA Owned Auto Repair Centers

Open for business, with new curbside drop-off/pick-up service.

Our AAA owned and operated Auto Repair Centers—located in Northern California, Arizona, and Nevada—remain open at this time for your vehicle’s service and repair needs. Plus, we’ve now added the convenience of curbside drop-off and pick-up.

The health and safety of our Team Members (employees), AAA Members, and customers remains our top priority.  That’s why we have now modified our service experience to reduce face-to-face interactions and get you back home as swiftly as possible.  These new protocols include a no-waiting policy for our lobbies, along with increased measures for your safety and that of our technicians.

Additional details:

  • Appointments are recommended and can easily be scheduled by calling one of our local repair centers (click here to find the shop nearest you); Arizona locations also offer online appointment scheduling.
  • Our new curbside drop-off service allows you to drive your vehicle into the parking lot, where you will be met by one of our Team Members.
  • Transportation from our centers—and back upon service completion—will need to be coordinated by you. (In certain circumstances, a complimentary Lyft rideshare can be arranged.)

In order to keep your car clean and you further protected:

  • We’re using steering wheel covers, seat covers, and floor mats on every serviced vehicle; and
  • Our technicians and service advisors are trained to sanitize their hands after use or when taking possession of keys to all vehicles.

Your safety on the road is important to us, and that means continuing to take care of needed maintenance and repairs on your vehicle.  These new changes will provide you with a much safer service while maintaining social distancing guidelines and reduced interactions at all times.

March 13, 2020

Dear AAA Member,

We're here to serve you.

As the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have an increased impact on our communities, we believe it’s important to take a moment to evaluate the situation and better understand appropriate levels of concern and response. As such, I wanted you to know we have taken precautions to maintain a healthy and safe environment, should you call us for roadside service, or need service in any way.

Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected. The health and safety of our Members, Team Members (employees), and communities is our highest priority. Our actions are informed by the CDC (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO (the World Health Organization), along with guidance from local and U.S. government and public health agencies. This situation is very much in flux, and conditions may change and change quite quickly. We feel staying informed is very important, especially should new protocols be issued.

Roadside Assistance Update:

AAA takes Member safety very seriously.

  1. If you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with a COVID-19 infected person please advise us, and also advise the responding service provider.
  2. Should that be the case and your vehicle needs to be towed, we ask that you arrange for alternate transportation—for you and your passengers—instead of riding in the tow truck, so that we may keep other AAA Members and our service providers safe.
  3. Additionally, for your protection, our warm greetings will not include a hand shake at this time.

AAA is committed to continuing to provide the top-quality service you expect during this challenging time, and we thank you for being a Member and understanding.
